The musicology minor focuses on the history and cultural contexts of music. Studying the development of music through time, you examine the forms, methods, and functions of music in Western and non-Western cultures. Coursework covers Music Fundamentals, Music Analysis, Music Literature, Music History, Independent Study in Fine Arts, and Perspectives in Music (World Musics, Hollywood and Broadway, Jazz and the American Experience.)
You can also join one of Truman’s music ensembles or apply for a music scholarship.
No audition is required for the musicology minor.
