Scott McEachern: Missouri Historical Society Internship
History Major
Class of 2017
It is an incredibly rewarding experience. You get a lot of opportunities to practice your public speaking skills. I learned a lot about being an effective educator; both what strategies work and which do not for different groups of people. You become a better educator in a non-classroom setting, which I believe makes you a stronger educator overall.
Working in the Museum’s Library and Research Center was so cool. It is just an amazing facility and I finally felt like a real historian with the work I was doing inside of it.
You become great at time management if you have other things going on or other commitments.
