Master of Athletic Training Program
Direct/Automatic Admittance
Students may enter the Truman Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program via the Direct/Automatic Admittance route. Students must meet the following guidelines:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Complete prerequisite courses with a minimum of C grade (including any associated labs)
- General Psychology
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Nutrition
- Statistics
- Human Physiology*
- Human Anatomy*
- *A&P I and II may substitute
- Completed 40 hours of observation under the supervision of a certified athletic trainer
- CPR certification uploaded
- Submitted three letters of recommendation (none from an immediate family member, program director, or department chair)
- Completed application including personal statement/essay
Applications will be reviewed by the MAT program admissions committee to ensure all standards are met but will be admitted into the program.
Students not meeting this criteria (i.e. are currently enrolled in a prerequisite course at the time of application) may apply to the program for review by the MAT program admissions committee.
